EATMT Trad Music Day - 2 September

The East Anglian Traditional Music Trust's Traditional Music Day has happened every year since 2002 on the Saturday following the August Bank Holiday. It takes place at the Museum of East Anglian Life in Stowmarket, in the centre of Suffolk. This year they have secured a fabulous line-up of guests to make this one to remember!

Guests confirmed are: the highly-acclaimed singer/fiddle player Jackie Oates, legendary Cork singer and writer Jimmy Crowley, singing and clog dancing from Jim and Lynette Eldon, the wonderful Scots fiddle player Carol Anderson, performance poet extraordinaire Racker Donnelly, superb Quebecois music from The Pigeon Swing, plus an exhibition of Karen Cater's artwork featuring portraits of traditional singers and musicians over the years.

Also added to the roster are a number of guests from previous years, who can't resist joining the party this year! Look out for iconic singers Peta Webb and Ken Hall, Will Noble, Peter & Barbara Snape, Julie & Gavin Atkin, to name just a few. The mighty Baz Parkes will be calling for the ceilidh with Pigeon Swing, whose members also pop up in various guises throughout the day. Events in the pipeline include 'Sound Sisters', 'Fire up the Fiddle', 'His'n'Hers', ' A Song, A Step and A Story' as well as all the usual stepdancing, dulcimer, jig dolls, talks, sessions etc.
