New Forest Folk Festival - 4-8 July

The festival site for the New Forest Folk Festival is situated on Powell's Farm in the beautiful village setting of Plaitford in the Test Valley district of Hampshire on the A36, between Southampton and Salisbury. Already labelled as one of the friendliest festivals, it’s small, intimate and run by Keith, Helen and Nick Curtis and their families on their farm. The farm is perfect for hosting a folk festival. It is surrounded by trees and is almost flat with a gentle slope down to the stage and stream that runs through the centre of the farm. For those who prefer it easy, it’s a gentle short stroll back to the camping field.

Camping is available for caravans, motor homes and tents. There is running water, but no showers or electric hook-ups. There is a breakfast bar, cafe and bar on site. There will also be a small shop in the camping field selling bread, milk, eggs, bacon, tins, sweets, drinks, camping supplies, toiletries etc. (Landford Garage is within walking distance. There are other local shops in the next village of West Wellow, just 2 miles away. The nearest town is Romsey which is 6 miles.)

Guests at the festival this year include Ward Thomas, Burgess Nicol & Kemp, Gilmore & Roberts, Edwina Hayes, Oxford Fiddle Group, Steeleye Span, TRADarrr, Julie Felix, Reg Meuross, CoCo and the Butterfields, Winter Wilson, Feast of Fiddles, Little Johnny England, Chris Leslie and more.
