PEATBOG FAERIES - What Men Deserve To Lose |
||||
A new CD from one of the top bands in Scotland is always something to look forward to. This is the Peatbog’s fifth album and is a follow up to the excellent ‘Croftwork’ of two years ago. I think it is fair to say that it marked a step up in the ambitiousness and intensity of the band’s music, and apparently reflected their live performances. I say apparently because unfortunately I have not caught them live, as they do not make the journey down from Skye into England too often - not surprisingly as their website Dates shows Alnwick as S.E. England! It is no coincidence that they won the Best Live Act at the Scottish Trad Music Awards in that year, beating the likes of Old Blind Dogs and Bain And Cunningham. But enough of the background: if you want any more info, biogs etc. look on their website. No favourite tracks, just a good all round performance by one of Scotland’s finest. This is definitely one to annoy the neighbours as you just have to play it LOUD!! Can’t wait to see them live but guess I will have to! Dave Beeby
