John Doonan & Dave Bulmer @ Kilmarnock Folk Club, May, 1976

John Doonan and Dave Bulmer were guests at Kilmarnock Folk Club in May, 1976 - around 50 years ago now!  This is an unedited informal recording.   Various friends, including people from the Irish traditional music community in Glasgow, came down to hear them that evening. Kevin Mitchell did a short floor spot, and Jimmy McHugh and Danny Duffy joined John and Dave towards the end of their second set. A book, or several books, could be written about Jimmy McHugh and his family, and his importance to Irish Music in Glasgow. Jimmy and Danny played together in the Four Provinces Ceili Band. Danny came from Lettermacaward, Donegal, but lived most of his life in Glasgow. Their presence for this night at Kilmarnock Folk Club testifies to Dave Bulmer's close relationship with Irish musicians in various parts of the country.
